High-temperature energy that bridges the day.
A layered store using three matched media – the right one for each temperature level. A phase change in the middle band stores a particularly large amount of energy at an almost constant temperature.

High-temperature phase change store (HT store)
From the idea to the application.
Four phases – from the problem of changing weather to the storage stage of every SolarSteamer system.
Solar radiation fluctuates – the supply should not.
Radiation changes over the day and the week. A high-temperature store that takes up the energy a system collects during the day decouples supply from the sun – and does so without expensive or scarce materials.
- keep supplying at night and in poor weather
- fixed energy prices in contracting models become possible
- inexpensive, non-toxic, readily available storage materials
Three layers, three temperature bands.
The right medium for each temperature level – and a phase change in the middle band that absorbs a particularly large amount of energy at an almost constant temperature.
Surplus heat charges the layers from top to bottom.
Melts while charging and solidifies while discharging. The phase change stores a great deal of energy at an almost constant temperature (172 kJ/kg heat of fusion).

Without the lid: a chambered storage space around an internal tube bundle. The light, insulated vessels can be filled with the storage media on site.
