More than 20 years in project and investment management, procurement, corporate finance and restructuring. Responsible for management as well as marketing and sales.
Dipl.-Ing. Dirk Besier
Mechanical engineer specialising in thermodynamics. More than 25 years in the design and construction of industrial plants (including Fives Pillard Deutschland and BASF). Inventor and developer of the SolarSteamer technology.
Dipl.-Ing. Michael Schneider
Mechanical engineer with further qualification as General Manager (Hernstein Institute, Vienna). More than 30 years building, restructuring and founding machinery and plant engineering companies.

Unit Eco GmbH is founded to develop and market the SolarSteamer technology. In the same year the German patent for the absorber system with reflector channel is granted.
- 2017–2018Prototype 1.0
Construction of the first prototype, financed with family and friends capital.
- 2022–2025Component optimisation
Further development of mirror and tube and documentation on the way from TRL 2 to TRL 4.
- from 2026Prototype 2.0 and pilot plant
Next steps: a manufactured prototype 2.0, followed by a commissioned pilot plant (TRL 7).
